COMMUNITY MURAL PROJECTS
Our goal is to create and find public art space to heal and beautify communities through the power of ART!
We also
identify walls that are commonly tagged and work with the property owner to paint over the illegal graffiti with themed positive artwork.
If you are a property owner, whether it is a business or home, looking for artwork outside or inside your property, contact us for details. We work with a great variety of talented artists that can provide different styles and professional artwork to customize your home or business. We have done motorcycles, businesses, signs, storefronts, houses, murals, canvasses, custom portraits, arcade rooms, and many more over the years. Portfolios available upon request.
"In cities across the country, murals have become an antidote for unwanted graffiti. Studies show that structures covered with community-oriented artwork are rarely the targets of vandals.
Minnesota Public Radio reporter Nikki Tundel put together this virtual tour of Twin Cities murals. Some of the public paintings depict the area's cultural heritage. Others showcase the personal interests of the building owners. All of them remain graffiti-free." http://minnesota.publicradio.org/display/web/2010/07/28/photos-murals-slideshow/

“Progressive art can assist people to learn not only about the objective forces at work in the society in which they live, bus also about the intensely social character of their interior lives. Ultimately, it can propel people toward social emancipation.” - Salvador Dali
City of Milwaukee Mural Arts Program & The Mural Mile
"It all begins with one brushstroke—the spark that ignites change. A single brushstroke that causes a ripple effect and transforms our city and the lives of those who live here.
Murals are more than just paint on walls. They create community, inspire individuals, revitalize neighborhoods and give hope. They tell the story of our city and give voice to its people, its cultures, its history and traditions. At Mural Arts, it is our mission to paint it forward—to help the force of life triumph in every neighborhood of our city. "-http://www.muralarts.org/getinvolved/gift.php

Summer of Peace 8.8.08
This was the 6th Annual Summer of Peace Youth Rally. TRUE Skool made a canvass that the event will be able to use year after year.

This mural was completed 8/8/08 at the 6th Annual Summer of Peace Youth Rally on Milwaukee's east side.
South 12th Street & National Avenue 7.17 & 7.18.08
TRUE Skool recently completed a community mural on 12th & National on July 17th & 18th with Legendary Graffiti Artist COPE2. The mural says "From the Youth, To the Community" in Graffiti Art style lettering along with characters of young people holding large art utencils. This mural is funded by The Greater Milwaukee Foundation's Youth-In-Service Fund. This is an example of young people doing positive and legal Graffiti Art in a safe place with permission using art that they are interested in and is relevant to them and their culture. For those that might have a hard time reading the lettering, there are banners above each word in plain lettering. This is just one type of mural our artists can do, our talented artists are very diverse in their skills and themes. Check out the Fox 6 News coverage.
We've seen High School Seniors using this mural as a backdrop for senior pictures!
